The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya, Malaysia is pleased to announce the hosting of the 4th International Conference on Informatics and Technology (Informatics '11). The conference will be held in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Malaysia from the 10th to 11th November 2011.

 

1.0 BACKGROUND
Informatics '11, one of the region's premier ICT events, will address a range of important topics with respect to using eco-friendly informatics and technologies to boost and promote innovation and quality research. These topics are inline with the conference's theme, that is, 'Green ICT towards Innovation and Quality Research'.

 

2.0 TOPICS
Topics include, but are not limited to :
  • Green ICT and Resource Management - recycling and reusing ICT (including intangible assets such as software), and reducing wastage
  • Cloud Computing and Networking - sharing resources and improving communication
  • Software Engineering and Programming - providing design patterns for reusability, and improving usability of various technologies
  • Power-aware Middleware and Software
  • Green Service Science Management Engineering
  • Security Issues Related to Green ICT
  • Energy Efficiency Pervasive Computing and Large-Scale Distributed Systems
  • Eco Friendly Data Center
  • Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Green-ICT Solutions
  • Intelligent Algorithms towards Eco-Friendly System
  • Models of Service Systems for Eco-Friendly Systems
  • Service Oriented Architecture and Technologies Towards Green Solution

 

3.0 Conference Proceedings
The conference will include numerous papers and symposium presentations by academics and researchers from around the world. Participants are welcome to submit:
  • Full Papers - These include accomplished research results and have maximum 8 pages (approximately 5,000 words).
  • Doctoral Symposium - Discussion will be held in group or individual projects of PhD students. Prospective students should send a short paper based on their PhD projects. These are mostly composed of work in progress reports and have maximum of 4 pages (approximately 2,500 words).

Only original research papers will be considered for publication. These papers must not be previously published, nor currently submitted elsewhere.

Selected accepted papers will be published in Malaysian Journal of Computer Science-MJCS (SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, CPCI-S, CPCI-SSH). The final selection depends on the decision of the MJCS editorial board.

We look forward to receiving strong papers and conference participation from you and your organization.

4.0 Awards

A "Best Paper Award" and a "Best Student Paper Award" will be conferred to the author(s) of a full paper presented at the conference, selected by the Conference Chairs based on the best combined marks of paper reviewing, assessed by the Program Committee, and paper presentation quality, assessed by session chairs at the conference venue.
